Mac the Miracle Dog

I became a Young Living Member in 1998. Ever since I sniffed my first bottle of oil, I was hooked. I knew I`d hit upon something exceptional that would benefit myself as well as others. My life altering experience with these oils didn't occur until February of 2003.
It was at that time that I decided to build a business with Young Living. I had my sponsor, Jen Crippen, teach a class in my home on a Friday night. Mac, my 10 year old Akita, thought the party was for him. He bounced & danced around showing off for all my friends. Once the class started, he settled down to enjoy the aroma of the oils wafting throughout our home.

The next day, my then husband, Kevin noticed that Mac's energy level was on the low side-something extremely unusual for him. By Sunday, Mac was basically incapacitated to the point where he wasn't even able to get up to go out & relieve himself. He was literally dead weight. We took him to his regular vet on Monday where they felt there wasn't anything they could do for him. They'd taken chest X-rays & found a dark mass pressing against his left lung which was also stressing his heart. They suggested that we take him to an internist & gave him drugs which they knew weren't going to do anything for him. The vets felt so bad for him that they just wanted to do something. After a biopsy from the veterinary internist, she was all but 100% positive that the dark mass was cancer. Not only that, but he had primary cardiac disease. We also discovered that Mac went from 100 lbs down to 89 lbs.

I immediately called Jen & asked her about her holistic vet. Dr Deb Rykoff (Jen's sponsor) had us come in at her earliest available time slot. She had Mac taking oils internally as well as externally along with other supplements, chiropractic & acupuncture to support him in his healing.

To make a long story short, Mac was bouncing around 2 weeks later as if nothing ever happened. Since then, he's had a couple of 'slow days' that haven't lasted more than 3-4 days at a time. We've changed some of his oils & he still loves having them massaged onto his ears. While he trots comfortably on his daily walks, it has me running to keep up behind him. He's back to his 'fighting weight' of 100 lbs & is the strong, energetic, happy & loving dog that we've always had.

All we can say is thank God for these lifesaving oils! I truly believe that he wouldn't still be with us without them.

Addendum as of 8/19/04:
Mac went to Dr Deb today for vaccine exemption. She said his heart was fine! No problems! We're going to up his intake on NingXia Red Juice, start him on Mineral Essence, Vitagreen & Sulfurzyme. Anyway, it looks like we're going to be celebrating his 12th birthday on September 17th.

Addendum as of 12/17/04:
On 12/17/04, we put Mac down. Although our hearts are broken in a gajillion pieces, I do find comfort & peace in that fact that it was not due to primary cardiac disease or cancer. There wasn't any pain or discomfort, just a very old & tired doggie. We anointed him with the essential oil blends of Valor, Peace & Calming, Acceptance, Trauma Life, Lavender (his favorite) & Frankincense. We also doused ourselves while also adding in Joy. I cradled his head in my arms & for once I was the pillow-not him. I sang his favorite songs to him as best I could as he peacefully slipped away. This was the first time I was present during one of my furry family member's passing & it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be. On the contrary. I've been honored to have Mac dog as one of my best friends, my big pillow, my lover-dog & my protector. I still feel his presence & feel blessed for that. Doubt he'll ever leave my side.
